San Diego, CA - April 1, 2011

Ms. Tsuchida leads the Senior Living / Wellness Studio for SGPA's Southern California office. She and Stuart Stoller, Director of Senior Living and Wellness for Northern California work together collaboratively to provide innovative solutions in response to current market demands.

SGPA is a 50-person architectural firm with offices in San Diego and San Francisco. Ms. Tsuchida is responsible for overall project performance, client management and meeting goals and objectives. Key projects include Casa Norte at Casa de Mañana in La Jolla for Front Porch, consisting of 30 one and two-bedroom units, community areas and underground parking for 43 cars, as well as Keiro South Wing Renovation in Los Angeles for Keiro Senior Healthcare, updating a 40-year old skilled nursing and memory care facility to current standards while the facility remains operational.

In addition to over 20 years in the design industry, Ms. Tsuchida was a Vice President for Sundt Construction for 8 years and was responsible for the acquisition of new work. During that period, the office redirected its focus from private to public projects with revenues of approximately $100M annually. She consistently advocated for alternative project delivery methods that promoted an integrated and collaborative approach.

Community and industry involvement include serving as the past president of Women in Architecture, speaking to design and construction professionals regarding the qualities of a good design-build team, and as a panel member for the California Center for Construction Education, promoting communication across generations. Ms. Tsuchida was recognized by the YWCA Twin (Tribute to Women and Industry) program.

Ms. Tsuchida holds a Bachelors of Architecture from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and has also received a Professional Design-Build Certification from the Design-Build Institute of America and LEED AP professional accreditation from the United States Green Building Council.
