We had a great 2018 here at SGPA. So as the year comes to an end, we’d like to look back at a few of our accomplishments. One of our most exciting accomplishments was having four of our projects complete construction this year –

G Square, a mixed-use project located in the unique West End Village of downtown San Rafael, California, is three-story building that enhances the identity and charm of this historic shopping district. The first floor is occupied by a boutique clothing shop while the top two floors feature ten luxury townhouse units with open plans and large outdoor patios and balconies.

Mira Mesa High School Athletics Facilities in San Diego, CA was a redevelopment of the 20 acre site, including a stadium and athletic facilities, into a modern athletic complex that fits a modern educational environment. It features a large gathering space, new LED field lights, new synthetic turf, the rehabilitation of an existing bleacher system, and accessibility upgrades.

Almaden ranch is a newly created regional shopping district located in San Jose, CA. The district offers a wide range of retail tenants including home improvement, health club, sporting goods, office supplies, small market, restaurants, and smaller boutique shops. The retail experience is designed to be more neighborhood-oriented and located near the street edge with pedestrian linkage to adjacent buildings and courtyards. The design intent was to capitalize on retail experiences as a growing hub for community engagement and gathering space, particularly when linked via gorgeous landscaped passageways that make is vehicle and pedestrian friendly.

Littlejohn Commons is an affordable senior living community that serves Alameda’s low income senior population. It opened it’s doors late this year with a grand opening ceremony hosted by the Alameda Housing Authority. This much needed development is also part of a larger redevelopment of the historic Del Monte warehouse that includes the adjacent Littlejohn Commons park. Extensive landscaping and community gardens all contribute to the high quality of life in this active senior living community.

A few other highlights of 2018: Groundbreaking of our affordable veterans housing project, Embark Apartments, in Oakland, CA which will feature 62 residential units and 2,000 SF of retail. Our mixed-use residential project, Westlake, in Daly City, CA gained approval after countless city council meetings. Lastly, through all the hard work our team has put into Cedros 330, we finally received a building permit to start construction and we look forward to seeing it complete in 2019.Finally as we head into 2019 and our 50th anniversary we recognize just a few of the amazing organizations we’ve connected with over the years. We are so honored to be able to support and partner with these amazing friends of ours. The work we do gains new meaning when we can connect with organizations like these and we hope to do even more in 2019. Thank you for being with us on this journey through 2018. We are looking forward to an even better 2019 as we celebrate our 50th Anniversary!
