Congratulations to Pamela Camack for being a finalist for San Diego Business Journal’s Top 40 under 40 Leaders of 2019! Throughout the year, the San Diego Business Journal hosts a series of events that bring together decision makers and business owners from all industries. The Top 40 under 40 Award recognizes local entrepreneurs and business professionals, positively impacting the San Diego business community through their leadership. Out of the hundreds of nominations received, only three architects were selected as finalists. We are so proud of Pam to be one of those finalists!

Pam has been with SGPA Architecture and Planning for over 13 years, joining as an Architect-in-Training straight from her California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo graduation. She has risen quickly and steadily through the ranks at SGPA from a Junior Designer to her current role as the Director of Operations and the Senior Living | Wellness Studio Leader. She repeatedly takes on many roles within our firm and wears many hats.

Pam was recently promoted to the position of Associate Principal in recognition of her past contributions and her future potential at SGPA. She continually proves to be a critical member of our team, and we know she will continue to play an important role in the future leadership of our firm. Because of her hard work and dedication, she has earned the respect of everyone she works with from clients and consultants to her co-workers and firm management at SGPA.

As the Director of Operations for SGPA’s San Diego office, Pam manages the staff to ensure that we have adequate resources to complete our projects on time and on budget. She also leads the business development efforts for our Senior Living | Wellness Studio, maintaining our current client relationships and developing new ones.  Serving on the regional board for LeadingAge and participating in other industry associations, Pam is a well-respected leader in the Senior Living arena.

Not only has Pam been integral in SGPA’s success, but she is a strong proponent for a healthy work-life balance.  She has been the captain of our SGPA softball team for over five years, even managing this year’s team from the sidelines with a shattered ankle.

Within SGPA, Pam also serves as a key member of project teams for our Education, Retail, Residential, and Mixed-use studios making her someone who can truly “do it all.”  Her ability to blend strong management skills with design expertise help her clients visualize and complete their projects successfully. She is known for persistently tackling challenging issues and has built a reputation with clients, contractors, and teammates for getting things done thoroughly and on time.

In addition, Pam is also a huge advocate of mentoring our staff and providing guidance to our emerging professionals.  She leads the onboarding process and makes sure that each new employee is welcomed to the team.  Her listening and communication skills and strong work ethic make her a great example for our younger generations.

After attending the awards ceremony and seeing the caliber of the finalists Pam was among, we are so proud of her for being one of this year’s Top 40 under 40 finalists. We want to recognize her for progressively advancing through more responsible positions in both Operations and Business Development, where she has played a key role in the growth and success of SGPA. We truly believe Pam is a natural born leader and can not wait to see where her future takes her!
